Andrew McFadden might be the bookies' favourite to get the axe first this season but Warriors owner Eric Watson said his under-pressure coach is "not going anywhere".
The Warriors are on a 10-game losing streak, dating back to July 2015, which has seen the pressure ramp up on McFadden. Theclub have repeatedly said McFadden has their backing but consecutive defeats to start the 2016 season has only intensified speculation.
Watson, though, said McFadden had the potential to be "a great coach".
"He's not going anywhere," Watson told Trackside Radio. "He's got the capability and ability to be a great coach.
"It's early days in his career. We've invested a lot into the coaching team, into Andrew. He's got a good team around him."
The Warriors have looked to bolster that team by trying to find a mentor for him. They sounded out NSW coach Laurie Daley and All Blacks assistant Wayne Smith was also suggested as a possible sounding board.
McFadden took over as head coach from Matt Elliott who was sacked five games into the 2014 season. Brian McClennan suffered the same fate towards the end of 2012 and Tony Kemp was also axed midway through 2005.
"Everyone loves, in the Aussie media in particular, stories about sackings," Watson told Trackside Radio. "He needs some time. It's two games in. There's a long way to go. He's got my full support. We have to be patient."
