Issac Luke, Mason Lino named for Warriors' clash with Eels

The Warriors have received positive news on the injury front, with both Issac Luke and Mason Lino named to start against Parramatta on Friday night.

It's no guarantee that either will play — both will have to pass fitness tests later in the week — but the fact they are in contention is a boost.

With Shaun Johnson's absence, the return of Luke and the retention of Lino is vital.

Their spine was disjointed in the 32-0 loss to the Roosters last Saturday, not helped by a lack of forward momentum, and needs to click against a desperate Eels side.

Lino, who left the field with a lower leg injury in the 68th minute of last week's match, was able to train with the squad on Tuesday after completing some individual work earlier in the session.

Luke was a late scratching from the Roosters clash last week but should have recovered from the shoulder injury picked up in the win over the Tigers in round nine.

There's further good news with the selection of utility back Gerard Beale on an extended bench, who returns from a long lay off after breaking his leg in the Kiwis first game of the 2017 World Cup.

In his first appearance in Warriors' colours last week, Beale (27) came through the full 80 minutes untroubled, making 105 metres from 14 runs and producing 12 tackles without a miss.

There's also one change to the four bench players used against the Roosters with prop Chris Satae coming in for Sam Lisone, who has been ruled out this week.

Satae, who was used off the bench in round four , has been performing consistently for the club's Intrust Super Premiership side.

In 58 minutes in last weekend's 0-11 loss to Western Suburbs, he made 134 metres from 12 runs as well as 32 tackles.

In 38 meetings with the Eels the Warriors have 17 wins and 21 losses with four of those victories coming in their last six encounters.

However, they have only five away wins over the Parramatta, the most recent in 2015.
