He was placed on report for the incident by referee Gerard Sutton but rugby league fans weren't so kind as they took to Twitter to lash him for the grubby act.
Post-match, Fox League's Braith Anasta called it "just stupid" from Munster but argued it should be fine.
Ben Ikin said "It's barely a kick" but labelled it "ill-disciplined".
Munster wasn't the only Maroon to come up with a questionable act. Joe Ofahengaue handed the opposition a penalty on a silver platter, while Kyle Feldt was lucky to stay on the field for a brutal high shot.
Joe Ofahengaue tested referee Sutton early in the second half when he prevented James Tedesco from catching a high ball. Ofahengaue was penalised for having no eyes for the ball as he collected Tedesco.
Meanwhile, debutant Kyle Feldt faces a nervous wait over a high — and late — shot on Blues star Cameron Murray.
We knew the refereeing on high shots was going to be relaxed a little for Origin but it probably wasn't expected for them to be wound back this far.
Murray was clearly rattled by the shot and a bit groggy as he got to his feet. In a club game, since the crackdown was introduced, it would have been a send off. And even before the crackdown, you could argue it still would have been a sin-bin.
