A number of fans chanting during a minute's silence have marred last night's State of Origin clash at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
New South Wales and Queensland stood in silence to remember Australian running great Ron Clarke who passed away yesterday.
Clarke, a former Gold Coast mayor, lit the cauldron
to open the 1956 Melbourne Olympics at the MCG.
Shouts of 'Queensland' and derogatory chants about NSW captain Paul Gallen were heard during the moment of respect.
