They are coming off a 42-0 thrashing to the Storm, coach Andrew McFadden today dropped some big names on the eve of the clash and they face a team they haven't beaten since 2007.

The Warriors are now nine seasons into a losing streak to the St George-Illawarra Dragons. Yes, that's right, the Dragons. A franchise that won the NRL premiership in 2010 but aren't exactly revered as one of the top sides in the competition over the past decade.

The Dragons 11-game win streak over the Warriors began with a round 24 victory in 2008, when the Dragons ran away with a 36-6 win. Since then the closest the Warriors have come to beating the Dragons in the subsequent 10 match-ups was an 12-11 defeat in 2009.

Don't think that home advantage will make any difference this weekend. Three of the 11 defeats were in Auckland while their last two match-ups on New Zealand soil are completely forgettable.

The Warriors hosted the Dragons at Eden Park in round two of the 2014 season, the Warriors' home opener. A 'weather-bomb' was forecast for the city and people were urged to stay indoors, leaving an insipid crowd at Eden Park which was matched by a poor Warriors performance, losing 31-12.

The last meeting between the two sides was at Westpac Stadium last year when the Dragons eased to a 36-0 win. It was the last time the Warriors were held to zero points, until Monday's effort against the Storm.

Extending the streak out further, the Warriors have won just one meeting in the past 17 against the Dragons and have a 4-23 record all time.

The Warriors have also gone winless in 12 attempts at the Dragons' base in Wollongong including a then club-record 54-0 drubbing in 2000.

Thomas Leuluai is the only member in the Warriors squad to have experience a win over the Dragons, scoring a try in the side's 30-20 win in Sydney during the 2003 season. Simon Mannering scored a double in the side's last win against St George-Illawarra in round 18, 2007 but will miss the chance for a rare win over the Dragons after suffering an injury against the Storm.
