Warriors halfback Shaun Johnson has chosen the grassroots league side he'll run the drinks for this weekend.

On Monday the star made the call out on Facebook saying: "Is there anyone out there willing to have me come out and run the Water for your footy team this Saturday?"

The post generated nearly 2000 comments from fans and league clubs around Auckland, making their pitch for the Golden Boot winner to make an appearance.

"To the U10s Manurewa Marlins Southsiders I shall see you guys 1030am at Mountfort Park," he wrote.

The generosity has drawn widespread praise on social media, with one commenter saying "what you're doing should be in every professional players contract. More time with the community. It's such a simple win/win".

It's safe to say there'll be a big turnout at Mountfort Park on Saturday.
