Park confident over ticketing

David Kennedy, Chief Executive of the Eden Park Trust, confirmed the stadium had been in contact with ticketing outlet Ticketmaster.

Nines organisers and Eden Park management are confident there will be no recurrence of a ticketing glitch that meant hundreds of fans turned up for this month's Wellington's Phoenix soccer match to find they had been allocated seats that didn't exist.

Eden Park chief executive David Kennedy said he was aware of the glitch, which resulted in stadium staff having to "relocate some of those patrons".

Spectators complained they were moved to upper stand seats, which were not of the quality they had paid for and were not serviced by catering facilities.

Mr Kennedy confirmed the stadium had been in contact with ticketing outlet Ticketmaster over the problem but he did not offer an explanation.

"That is probably something you need to take up with the Phoenix and Ticketmaster," Mr Kennedy said.

Ticketmaster did not respond to the Herald's questions.

Phoenix general manager David Dome declined to comment.

However, a club spokesman indicated the problem lay with Ticketmaster.

Mr Kennedy was confident ticketing for the Nines, which is being performed by Ticketek, would be glitch-free.

"We are comfortable the ticketing process for this event is robust," he said.
