It has long been the bane of the Breakers and the Phoenix, now the Warriors will have the chance to experience the longest road trip in Australian sport.
Manly have decided to take their NRL match against the Warriors on July 28 away from their usual Brookvale Oval base andwill instead play in Perth - leaving the Warriors with a gruelling trip to exact revenge for last year's grand final defeat.
The round 21 clash falls between Warriors home games against the Knights and the Sharks, ensuring a long return flight for the Auckland-based club.
The match will be played at the 40,000-seat Patersons Stadium in Subiaco, which is home to AFL heavyweights West Coast Eagles and Fremantle.
Manly had originally been negotiating to move next month's grudge match against Melbourne to Perth to support league in the region, but have instead opted for the New Zealand side as their opponents in the wild west.
Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah was hopeful his side would experience some support in the unfamiliar environs.
"There are so many people of New Zealand heritage living in Western Australia and plenty of fans who support the Warriors," he said. "It'll be a great opportunity to connect with the community and for our fans there to support us."
It will be the second time this year the two clubs have clashed away from their regular home ground, after the Warriors took their season-opening clash against the Sea Eagles to Eden Park.
