Flanagan was far more open to anointing Brown, who has played just one game this year, as the team's next No.9 ahead of Australian Schoolboy brothers Jayden and Blayke Brailey. The club has also been linked to another Wests Tigers hooker in the off-contract Manaia Cherrington.
"We've got Nu Brown who we always thought was going to be a hooker," Flanagan said.
"We've got last year's Australian Schoolboy Jayden Brailey, and we've got the current Australian Schoolboy in his brother Blayke Brailey coming through.
"Those two aren't ready yet, and they're not going to be ready next year. But we've got a plan in place. It might have to be moved 12 months forward, but we'll move on."
League legend Peter Sterling is a fan of the Sharks bidding for Farah, especially if his current contract - he is believed to be owed close to $1 million next season - would be heavily subsidised by the Tigers.
"The more I think about it the more I think he'd be a pretty good fit there, dependant of course on what kind of money you're going to get him for," Sterling told Triple M's Rush Hour.
"You're kind of getting a like-for-like hooker. They're both good out of dummy half, both got good vision, both can kick the football, so it would be quite a comfortable transition for Robbie Farah."
