Friday night's 30-22 loss to Brisbane makes finals all but impossible for this season but McGregor said any recruitment decisions will come following next weekend's game at Newcastle.
"I'll have a full review in a couple of weeks," McGregor said. "Everyone keeps telling me we need a front-rower.
"Everyone said we didn't have size six weeks ago and that went away. It depends on winning or losing, it depends what everyone wants.
"I'll have a real good look at it in the next couple of weeks, have a real good look at our cap and see what we can do."
Despite the disappointment of realising any hope of finals football had all but been extinguished at Suncorp Stadium, McGregor said he is only at the start of his journey with the Dragons.
"The group hasn't been together very long," he said. "We've got two new halves, a new fullback, new centres. A young forward pack.
"This group's only been together with me for 13 weeks, we need to improve, we know that but we've got a good group there, we need to work hard."
