Parramatta star Jarryd Hayne remains uncertain how long he will be sidelined by the knee injury he suffered during Monday night's loss to the Warriors.
The fullback was relieved to find out his NRL season wasn't over, having initially feared he'd damaged an anterior cruciate ligament.
It's believed he redamaged some scar tissue from a previous knee injury and he is due to see a physiotherapist later on Tuesday before a decision is made on whether he'll undergo scans.
However the sight of Hayne walking around without pain at an Eels recovery session on Tuesday morning was a relief for Eels fans.
"I don't know (how long I'll be out). It's just about getting that stability (in the knee) back,'' Hayne said.
"As soon as I get that back, I know I'll be sweet.
''... It feels alright. It is a bit shaky walking, but I can walk and that's probably a good sign.''
When asked if he initially felt his season would be over, Hayne admitted: ``A little bit, when it first happened and the pain was there. Obviously it's the worst thing you can think of.
"I think it happened probably the first or second step and, by the third one, I didn't feel any stability there.
"It hyperextended on the third one, I knew something was wrong and I just went down.
"The pain hit straight away and, when I got back to the sheds, it felt good. Everything was alright. It felt a bit loose (not) too stable.''
It is the latest setback for Hayne, who struggled with hamstring injuries in 2011 and was in his first game since injuring his knee in the Eels' trial match against Penrith last month.
But the NSW Origin hopeful refuses to be dragged down by the latest injury.
"I try not to get frustrated. It's easy to get frustrated and to get upset about it,'' he said.
"I've had a lot of setbacks lately but I'm just trying to stay positive and looking forward. I'll be back at some stage. I've just got to focus on that.''
