The mum of Kiwis forward Sam Kasiano has said that she wants her son to stop playing league.
The comments come after Kasiano was the victim of a massive shoulder charge from Roosters forward Kane Evans, which brought the question of the legality of the shoulder charge back into question.
In an interview to the Daily Telegraph, Kalala Kasiano spoke out, saying she believes her son's own welfare was ignored - simply because of his size.
As a result, she doesn't want her son to continue his career with the Canterbury Bulldogs.
"I've had enough. I don't want him to play anymore. I've got another son who is just starting to play and I don't want him to play, either."
Many in favour of the shoulder charge argued that the tackle was legitimate because it was on a big man like Kasiano, but the NRL agreed with the argument placed forward by Kasiano's mum - changing the rule on Friday.
Now, any shoulder charge will be hit with an automatic one game ban - and perhaps Kasiano will have the blessing of his family to continue with his stellar career.
