League: Johns looks for record

Newcastle star Andrew Johns is eyeing the NRL points-scoring record on Saturday after his woes against the Warriors last weekend.

Johns needs just 18 points to break former North Sydney halfback Jason Taylor's NRL career record of 2107 when the Knights host the Cronulla Sharks.

The Knights will need a form turnaround after suffering their third consecutive loss, 30-18, to the Warriors.

Johns labelled it an awful display, which dropped the Knights to sixth place on the ladder.
