SYDNEY - Melbourne prop Alex Chan received a two-match suspension today when the Storm opted not to contest a striking charge levelled against him by the NRL judiciary.
Chan entered an early guilty plea to the charge today, meaning he'll miss games against Manly at Brookvale Oval on Easter Sunday
and Brisbane at Olympic Park on April 2.
The 30-year-old Chan struck St George Illawarra's Shaun Timmins while carting the ball up during Melbourne's 46-12 win over the Dragons at WIN Stadium on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, Storm coach Craig Bellamy today named a 19-man squad for this weekend's match against the Sea Eagles, who are enduring a controversial week following the citing of John Hopoate for a sickening high shot on Cronulla's Keith Galloway.
Both sides are undefeated after two rounds of the competition, with the Storm at the top of the table following big wins over Newcastle and the Dragons.
Chan and second-rower Dennis Scott (knee injury) are missing from the Storm squad.
Storm: Billy Slater, Matt Geyer, Steve Bell, Matt King, Jake Webster, Scott Hill, Matt Orford, Robbie Kearns (c), Cameron Smith, Brett White, David Kidwell, Ryan Hoffman, Dallas Johnson. Interchange: Antonio Kaufusi, Glen Turner, Cooper Cronk, Jamie McDonald, Ian Donnelly, Nathan Friend.
