"Officers from Marrickville Local Area Command attended about 5.15am and spoke with a 27-year-old man. NSW Ambulance paramedics checked two young children but no further police action is anticipated as this time."
The Roosters, who have been contacted by the NRL, have been sought for comment.
"The integrity unit is aware of the matter and has asked the Roosters to provide a report," an NRL spokesperson said.
Both Carter and Ferguson drew headlines this year for separate off-field incidents.
Carter, 25, was sacked in June this year after being involved in a drugs scandal that resulted in him earlier this month pleading guilty to supplying cocaine to an ex-teammate.
Ferguson, 27, also attracted criticism for drinking on his day off during NSW State of Origin camp before their game three deciding loss to Queensland in Brisbane.
He also recently missed Kangaroos selection for the upcoming World Cup due to form.
Ferguson's manager, Sam Ayoub, has come to the defence of his client.
"Blake is not in trouble with the Roosters," Ayoub told the Sydney Morning Herald.
"He is not at fault. It's an unfortunate situation that he has been caught in the middle of. He let a mate in for a few drinks and that is all. Blake is extremely upset about what has happened because he has done nothing wrong."
