Andrew Fifita showed what he can do without the distraction of State of Origin duties in topping fantasy scorers in Round 17.

Storm 32 Broncos 0
The star: Ryan Hichcliffe (71pts) - that's three-straight 50+ scores from Hinchcliffe and this was his best of the season. Any time you beat Cameron
Smith to the Storm's weekly honours, you know you're doing well.

The dud: Josh Hoffman (8pts) - Given the Broncos' final score, Hoffman was lucky to even record eight points. Tip: bench your backs against the Storm.

Value pick: Maurice Blair (50pts) - he's scored seven tries in his nine appearances this season and is the value back of the Storm squad at just $163k.

Sharks 36 Tigers 22
The star: Andrew Fifita (76pts) - Fifita was an all-round fantasy monster on Friday night. Two tries, two line breaks, 171m gained and 32 tackles. Once Origin is over and done with Fifita can be depended on for some big fantasy scores.

The dud: Braith Anasta (15pts) - He's been a top-four five eight so far this season but this was his equal worst fantasy week as he went missing on offence.

Value pick: Chris Heighington (41pts) - For $182k Heighington's a great option as your bench second rower and this is right around the kind of performance to expect from him there.

Dragons 0 Roosters 36
The star: Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (60pts) - The Roosters enforcer must have been fired up for this clash as he dominated the team tackle count with 41.

The dud: Brett Morris (6pts) - Morris was the victim of a Dragons offense gone wrong on Saturday night. Another lesson in why you bench your back against the 'big four' NRL sides.

Value pick: Michael Jennings (49pts) - He's an in-form Origin representative and he costs just $154k. Buy, buy, buy.

Titans 18 Panthers 40
The star: James Roberts (49pts) - James Roberts? I've never heard of him either, don't worry. But this week he scored three tries and made three line breaks. For $123k he could be a sneaky addition to your backline as the season continues. Keep him on your radar.

The dud: Greg Bird (14pts) - He suffered an ankle injury during this game, so it was tough luck for his many owners.

Value pick: Adam Docker (41pts) - James Roberts could easily be here too, but Docker comes at just $107k and is getting more minutes of late for the Panthers. Could be a possible bench option for you if you're short on cash.

Raiders 26 Cowboys 18
The star: Josh Papali'I (68pts) - A great all-round night for the Raiders second-rower. A try, 155m gained, a line break and 36 tackles.
The dud: Ashley Graham (11pts) - he had a great first six weeks of the season but has been below average since. Avoid.

Value pick: Paul Vaughan (38pts) - If all you had left in your bank was $92k and you popped Vaughan in your lineup this week, good on you.

Bulldogs 12 Knights 18
The star: Michael Ennis (55pts) - He's an every-week starter for your team as he always racks up the tackles. He made 48 this week, his third-highest tackle count of the year.

The dud: Frank Pritchard (11pts) - Pritchard's teased owners all season long, matching great results one week with duds the next. He's too inconsistent for my liking.

Value pick: Willie Mason (41pts) - It was inevitable that Mason would appear in this column at some point this season and, luckily for him, it's as a great value player for the round. At 190k he's cheap, but doesn't quite play enough minutes to warrant selection for your squad.

Rabbitohs 30 Warriors 13
The star: Nathan Friend (54pts) - He's averaging an elite 59 points over his last six games though the return of Pita Godinet in Round 19 may affect his numbers. Keep an eye on team lists before playing him.

The dud: David Tyrrell (10pts) - He's been a solid, if a little expensive, option in the back position this season, largely because he doesn't actually play in the back line. He just disappeared in this match though.

Value pick: George Burgess (44pts) - He was huge on the ground in this match racking up 180m. Pair that with 22 tackles, no errors and a price tag of $139k, then you have your bargain of the week.

Sea Eagles 50 Eels 10
The stars: Jorge Taufua (66pts) - Taufua led the way in the Sea Eagles' hammering of the Eels with a staggering five line breaks which led to three tries and over 200m gained on the ground. When he's on, he's on, as this was his fourth multi-try performance of the season.

The dud: Joseph Paulo (8pts) - By far his worst fantasy day of the season. He came into this match averaging 34 points. He'll bounce back.

Value pick: Daniel Harrison (41pts) - He's averaging 43 points in his two games played this season, so at $189k you should definitely keep an eye on him as the season rolls on.
