A Canberra man who peddled cocaine to Kiwi rugby league stars Kevin Proctor and Jesse Bromwich hours after the Anzac test "wanted to get on it with his heroes", a court has heard.
Adrian Crowther had hoped to impress Kiwi stars Jesse Bromwich and Kevin Proctor when he spotted themenjoying a night out in Canberra.
But the 45-year-old was captured on CCTV preparing lines of cocaine for them on his mobile outside Cube nightclub
He avoided jail today but was slapped him with a 12-month good behaviour bond.
Crowther, 45, was fined more than $5000 after he was captured on CCTV cutting lines of the drug on his mobile phone for two men to snort through a rolled bank note in Civic on May 6 in the early hours of the morning following the Kiwis Anzac test defeat to Australia on May 5.
The Melbourne Storm and Gold Coast Titans NRL stars were subsequently banned from representing New Zealand at the upcoming World Cup in October, and handed respective two and four match suspensions.
Bromwich also volunteered to donate his $20,000 test match payment to charity while Proctor was stood down from his role as Titans co-captain and fined the same amount by club management.
