Barely able to stand on two feet due to a calf injury, Wests Tigers winger David Nofoaluma had insult added to injury when leaving the pitch on Sunday night.
The 24-year-old was injured in a tackle during the first half of his side's 16-14 defeat at the hands of theSydney Roosters and was unable to continue his role in the match.
The scenario is generally met by applause fans for the injured players, however a Roosters fan took the opportunity to give Nofoaluma a piece of his mind.
The Tigers winger called out the fan on Twitter, saying: "Disgraced when coming off to hear a Roosters fan in the crowd say "Nofoaluma you c***. You're a f***ing piece of s***". Hope you're satisfied!!"
The Tigers winger received the backing of Australian Rugby League Committee chairperson Peter Beattie for calling out the fan.
Disgusting, a great club like @sydneyroosters would be embarrassed by that. Hopefully they'll find the fan and throw him out for the year. https://t.co/B2l0y32YQx
