League: Kiwis paired to be recalled

The versatility of Lewis Brown is expected to see him recalled to the Kiwis when their 24-man squad for the Four Nations is named this morning.

The Penrith utility hasn't played internationally since 2011, but had a pleasing NRL season and can cover several positions.

Outgoing Warriors assistant coach Ricky Henry says he's been impressed this season.

"He's pretty versatile to play a number of positions. So he can play at back rower if we need him to play there, he can play hooker, he can also play at centre.

"I think it's a good decision to pick him and he's played well enough to sort-of warrant his selection."

Henry says throwing Panthers wing Dallin Watene-Zelezniak into the squad would help build experience.

Meanwhile, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves is expected to get his Kiwis place back this morning.

The Roosters prop was dropped for the Anzac test this year, but is in-line for a return in the 24-man squad for the Four Nations.

Henry says the squad will reap the rewards if he's re-selected.

"I think he's done enough to play in the Kiwi jersey and I think what he does do is give us a lot of mongrel through the middle.

"I think the middle's got a lot of good balance. A really good balance there with a bit of skill and there's also some good aggression there."
