Julie Burgess hits back at rumours she is romantically involved with Russell Crowe

Julie Burgess has hit-back at published rumours of her romantic relationship with Hollywood star Russell Crowe.

Despite the pair repeatedly denying they are dating, Australia's Woman's Day magazine reported the pair are officially an item, citing an unidentified "family friend" as the source.

The 54-year-old mother of South Sydney Rabbitohs rugby league stars Sam, George and Thomas - as well as Manly forward Luke Burgess - has again been linked as being Crowe's first romantic connection since his separation from Danielle Spencer, his wife of nine years and mother of his two sons, in 2012.

"It's definitely on. The boys are really supportive of Julie and want her to be happy," the insider told the magazine.

It has also been reported the pair were spotted embracing at an Ed Sheeran concert at Allianz Stadium on December 9, where photos of the pair were posted on Instagram and Twitter.

It was reported they were spotted "canoodling" and enjoyed a "deeply affectionate moment".

However, that's all baloney, according to Julie Burgess and her son Thomas.

Thomas saw the story re-written online and admitted the rumours have caused his family grief.

The magazine also claims Spencer is shocked to see her ex-husband move on.

Images of Julie Burgess at the Ed Sheeran concert with Crowe and his 12-year-old son Charles concerned Spencer, according to the publication.

Luke Burgess, Sam Burgess and his partner Phoebe Hooke also attended the gig.

Julie posted on her Twitter account that night: "Brilliant show! RT @SamBurgess8: What an awesome night @edsheeran's Sydney concert last night. What an absolute hero."

Crowe also posted on social media, saying: "Loved @edsheeran in the rain. Thunder, lightning, torrential downpour and Sydney was rocking!!"

Julie has lived in Sydney since 2012 after following Sam's move to the Harbour City in 2010.
