New Zealand-born Melbourne Storm rugby league player Marty Turner was released from the intensive care unit in a Melbourne hospital yesterday, two days after suffering serious injuries in a car accident.
Turner, whose parents Robin and Lynette arrived in Melbourne from Christchurch on Wednesday to be at his bedside, had recovered sufficiently for concerned team-mates to pay a visit at the Royal Albert Hospital.
Turner, 20, had no recollection of the crash which left him with a ruptured spleen, fractured ribs, severe concussion and bruising.
