Rugby League: Nikau may not return to England after wife's death

LONDON - Rugby league player Tawera Nikau has brought the body of his wife, Letitia, home to New Zealand and his English club side Warrington do not expect to see him return.

Thirty-six-year-old Letitia Nikau died in hospital last Thursday night after being found hanged at the couple's English home.

Warrington coach Darryl Van de Velde said the club was unsure about Tawera Nikau's plans, but admitted Nikau wouldn't be "rushing back" to play for the Super League team.

Warrington players and staff attended Letitia Nikau's funeral in England yesterday.

"It all puts our game into perspective," Van de Velde said.
