All Blacks wing Corey Jane is expected to miss the upcoming test series against Ireland after suffering a high ankle sprain in the Hurricanes' loss to the Brumbies last night.
Jane left the field in the 24th minute and scans on the ankle today revealed the sprain, meaning he willmiss approximately six weeks.
It is a further blow for the All Blacks after Chiefs centre Richard Kahui, projected as a wing in the national environment, dislocated his shoulder against the Reds last weekend.
Meanwhile, Hurricanes flanker Karl Lowe is also expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks after injuring the media ligament in his right knee near the end of the 37-25 defeat.
Hurricanes coach Mark Hammett said he felt for the players but backed his side to overcome their absence.
"It is disappointing for both CJ and Lowey to be out with injury but we have been in this situation before and it means the other guys need to step up which they will do," he said.
"Our medical team will monitor the two closely and work with them to get them back on the park when ready."
