A potentially serious injury to All Blacks winger Cory Jane has marred the New Zealand Barbarians' historic win.
The invitational side has outclassed the Maori All Blacks 34-17 at Eden Park, despite losing Jane to a nasty-looking ankle injury early in the second-half.
Barbarians first-five Tom Taylor says it was a great experience.
"The lungs are hissing a bit but I just really enjoyed my time, it's really a good week getting to know some new boys. That was our focus, we just wanted to play for each other and create a bit of history. It was pretty awesome so we're pretty happy."
Right winger Jane suffered a nasty-looking ankle injury when he got trapped in a ruck.
Jane was "trying to go in there and be a forward, which I should never do, and got caught, got folded one way and the ankle didn't come out of the ground. Hopefully it's not too bad."
The All Blacks have already lost rookie winger Waisake Naholo for the next three months after he broke a bone in his leg during the Rugby Championship opener against Argentina.
