Rugby: Collins suspended for two weeks

Hurricanes Super 12 forward Jerry Collins may appeal last night's two-week suspension for a dangerous tackle that left Crusaders lock Chris Jack unconscious on Friday.

Hurricanes chief executive Malcolm Holmes hinted following the hearing that the franchise and the player were unhappy with the decision. The punishment will not jeopardise Collins' possible participation in the All Blacks trial on June 1. He could serve the suspension in Wellington club rugby.

Team-mate Chris Masoe was handed a one-week suspension for his tackle on Daniel Carter in the same match.
