Chiefs halfback Augustine Pulu has been ruled out for up to 10 weeks after breaking an arm in New Zealand's semifinal win over Fiji in Sydney at the weekend.
Gordon Tietjens' men dedicated their incredible come-from-behind 27-24 win over Australia to Pulu, who has been a revelation in the shortened
form of the game. The injury to the two-test All Black will impact on the Chiefs, although they have depth at halfback with the likes of Tawera Kerr-Barlow and Brad Webber in the squad.
"It's the arm he broke a couple of years ago so it's probably an eight- to 10-week period," Chiefs coach Dave Rennie said. "There is a possibility that he might come back to us for a couple of weeks before he goes back to his sevens commitments."
One of Pulu's major goals will be to recover in time for the Rio Olympics in August.
