Rugby: Auckland Storm thrash Canterbury

The Auckland Storm showed why they are favoured to win a third consecutive women's NPC first division rugby title with a comprehensive 25-5 victory over previously unbeaten Canterbury at Western Springs.

Auckland scored three tries, to backs Tammi Wilson, Monique Hirovanaa and Waimania Teddy, with Anna Richards kicking 10 points. They are top of the table, four points clear of Canterbury and last year's beaten finalists Otago, who beat Waikato 30-13 at Carisbrook.

Bay of Plenty drew 10-10 with Wellington and Counties Manukau beat Northland 19-12.
