Rowing: Georgina Evers-Swindell breaks world record

Georgina Evers-Swindell broke the world record in the 2000m indoor rowing event in the first day of the New Zealand trials at Lake Karapiro.

Evers-Swindell's new mark of 6m 28.5s shattered the previous record by 2.1s. Three weeks ago she won the world indoor championship title in the United States.

The indoor rowing machine is part of the off-water strength and fitness testing by selectors choosing crews for the World Cup and world championships in August.
