Save An apprentice jockey has shown he still has a bit to learn about horse racing after celebrating a victory one lap too early.
Rafi Firdhaus thought he'd claimed a win on Locally Sauced during race four at Hokitika yesterday.
"I hope this rider in front knows there is another lap
to go," the racecaller said.
Unfortunately Firdhaus didn't and started to celebrate the win only to realise his mistake.
Firdhaus and Locally Sauced recovered to finish fourth. Firdhaus still finished the day with two race wins, at shorter distances.
