Racing: Top jockey tips winners

One of New Zealand's top jockeys, Jason Waddell, currently suspended, is our guest tipster for Ellerslie today.

Waddell was suspended finishing second on Kawi in last week's Telegraph. One major ride he will miss today is Ever Loyal in the $1m Karaka Million 3YO Classic and he recommends having something on it. At $11 it's value. Waddell's tips:

R1: Melody Belle, Merlini, Gift Of Power.

R2: Julius, Ferrando, Romancer.

R3: Gobstopper, Von Tunzelman, Five To Midnight.

R4: Ever Loyal, Savvy Coup. Scott Base. He says: "Forget Ever Loyal's last start, put a line through it. The Norton bit goes back on and that will make the difference - he was too aggressive for me without it last time. He can win. Savvy Coup has the right formlines. Scott Base won well last start and Kapoor for a blowout."

R5: Livin' On A Prayer, Coldplay, Ja Ja Binks.

R6: Avantage, She's A Thief, Sword Of Osman.

"Biggest push for me is Opie choosing Avantage and committing to ride at 54.5kg. "She's A Thief has done nothing wrong, but looks a little one dimensional. "Sword Of Osman could be anything. "Only one start and no trials. Professionalism might cost him in a rough race, but he's exciting."
