Racing: Summing up feature races at the Park

MESSENGER CHSHIP, R8, 9.19: Impossible to see Christen Me (4) beaten after his total domination of similar field in Taylor Mile here last Friday.

While longer trip will suit some of his older rivals he looks New Zealand's next king of pacing.

Gold Ace (6) was a decent second after leading last week and should secure the pacemaking role again so logical danger.

Bettor Cover Lover (8) was third in Auckland Cup this trip and will stick on but draw makes race tactically tricky for her.

Jarcullembra (1) never got into the race last week but should sit on the markers and ran on so must for First4 and trifecta.

Jason Rulz (5) will improve on last week and small trifecta hope.

Top four: Christen Me, Gold Ace, Bettor Cover Lover, Jarcullembra.

Suggested bet: Christen Me too short again, so trifecta 4/1-6-9/1-6-8.

ROWE CUP, R9, 9.50: The big three stand out a long way here in Vulcan (7), Stent (6) and Stig (11).

Vulcan didn't handle the track perfectly last week but should be better for that and great little stayer. Top pick but with some reservations.

Stent has matured well this season and has the manners and speed to sit handy to the pace and kick hard. Will be in the finish.

Stig's old body is just holding together but he is the best horse here, or at least was once.

If he gets it perfectly right tonight he should win.

Plenty of place and trifecta hopes, namely Realmein (3), Flying Isa (10), Sovereignty (13) and Springbank Sam (15).

Of those, Flying Isa was the most impressive and rates as the best value tonight.

Top four: Vulcan, Stig, Stent, Flying Isa.

Suggested bet: Take the chance on Stig at around $6.
