Because her victory meant the Cambridge trainer has won with six different horses at six different tracks in just under 100 hours.
And even if that had been pulled off by a New Zealand trainer with just one stable (no satellite barn) before it is incredibly doubtful a Kiwi trainer has trained six winners in five days with half of those coming at three separate Australian tracks.
The roll started when Pike trained winners at both Rotorua and New Plymouth on Saturday hours before Bostonian won the A$800,000 Doomben 10,000 in Brisbane.
He then sent Simply Sacred to Ipswich to win on Sunday before his two wins yesterday.
"When you think about it like that it does sound pretty rare, doesn't it?" laughed Pike.
"It is just the way it has worked out with some of these horses being better off in Queensland for the winter and the ones here racing well."
Intrigue now looks set to make the Oaks field after her mid-week win replicated that of stablemate Provocative winning a low-grade Ipswich race three years ago to get into the Oaks, which she bolted away with.
Oddly the Oaks will be run over 2200m at Doomben this year rather than at 2400m at the newly-refurbished Eagle Farm, a cloud which Pike believes could have a silver lining.
There is talk some of the better fillies could skip the Oaks to contest the Derby on the roomier Eagle Farm track. "And to be honest the colts don't look super strong this season so the Derby may not be that strong. The two Baker-Forsman horses from over here will be two of the better chances so I can see a few of the fillies looking that way."
Pike wasn't the only Kiwi trainer with runners at both the Sunshine Coast and Ruakaka yesterday and Nigel Tiley might have pulled off a rare feat of his own when Carrera To The Max won on debut.
Like Intrigue she was ridden by Leith Innes and the daughter of Snitzel was too quick for her rivals in a 1000m race worth A$25,000.
"Leith was joking with me after the race about the last time a New Zealand-trained horse would have won a 1000m race in Australia," said Tiley.
"Leith was saying it might have been Our Maizcay and I am not going to argue with him. There wouldn't be many these days who try."
Innes's memory must be pretty good as superstar youngster Our Maizcay did win a 1000m race in Australia and quite a serious one: the San Domenico Stakes at Randwick in August 1995, beating Strategic and Flying Spur among others.
Tiley is not kidding himself Carrera To The Max is going to replicate too many other things Our Maizcay did in his career but he does believe the obviously talented filly could work her way toward a black type race before she returns home.
"I think she would have won by even more had it been 1200m today and she could get that shot at black type which would be valuable with her being by Snitzel."
Tiley has six reps in Queensland and is thrilled with Bisou Bisou as she readies for her Australian debut at Doomben.
She has barrier one in a A$125,000 fillies and mares's 1200m listed race in which she will clash with fellow Kiwi rep Indecision for Pike.
"She (Bisou Bisou) is really well and we all know the travelling won't bother her," says Tiley.
"I think she can go well this week and have a good campaign here before she stays on over here to be served.".
