Regency ended her work for Ellerslie on Saturday impressively on a fast plough at Takanini yesterday.

The McKee-trained mare went 1600m, the last 1200 in 1:18.3 , 1000 in 1:2.5 and 600 in 36.8, leaving no doubts she was close to her best again.

Sunrise Girl led Pyramus after 1200m in 1:15.8,
the 600 in 36.7. Miss Pollyanna and Pure Intrigue reeled off 1000m in 1:0.4, the 600 in 36.1.

Finbar Reidy ran the final 1000m of 1600 in 1:2.5, the 600 in 36.9. Meistersinga and Desert Sheik showed promise by sprinting 1000 in 1:3.5, the 600 in 36.1.

Chiavenna showed her usual dash to cut out the last 1000m of 1600 in 1:1.7, the 600 in 36.7.

Preferred Girl worked in encouraging fashion for Ellerslie on a firm No 1 grass at Pukekohe, taking 51.5 for 800m, the 600 in 36.4.

Ajwaads Angel and Shaq shaped attractively together over 800m in 49, the 600 in 36.7. Black To Black galloped 1000 in 1:3, the 600 in 38.9.

Kapai Sun worked solidly over 800m on a good fibre track in 52.8, the 600 in 35.8. Ngaio and River Reach went comfortably over the same ground in 51.1 and 36.8.

Slam Your Douks ran 800 on the fibre in 51.3, easing slightly from the 600 in 38.7. Cheval Noir was not extended over 800 on the No 2 grass in 55.5.

Stablemates Barborough and Emerald Dream worked in fine style over 1200m wide out on a firm No 2 grass at Cambridge in 1:18.9, the 600 in 41.

Regret travelled well throughout 1000m in 1:4.9, the 600 in 38.7. Kellystown Road shaded Can't Commander after 1200 in 1:21, the 600 impressively in 38.1.

Hoopla returned 1:5 for 1000m and 38.4 from the 600. Misstag and Prized Gem went 1200 comfortably in 1:20.4, the 600 in 40. Pastel and Gold Fever dashed 800 in 52.4.

Gone No Address and Baby Face Assassin ran 800m in 52.9. Gussy Godiva and Monteray Bay looked in good order when covering 1200 in 1:18.2, the 600 in 39.

At Matamata, Enthous, San Gennaro and Sand Class kept on terms in a good workout over 1200m in 1:19, the 600 in 38.5.

Venus Was Her Name galloped 1200m with Little Angel in 1:19, the 600 in 37.8. O'Malleys Boy had a lazy time over 1200, the final 600 in 42.1.

Jadore and Rosewood strode 1000m freely in 1:4.3, the 600 strongly in 37.8. Flash Red and Tanner Manner did similar work in 1:8 and 39.2.

West Life looked in good order when running 1000m in 1:6, the 600 in 38.3. Lava Lady did 1200 with Rock Hard in 1:22, the 600 in 38.3.

The Mighty Lions and Housemaster pleased over 1200m in 1:20, the 600 in 39.5.

In preparation for the Mercedes Derby Prelude at Ellerslie, Chokin Stardust excelled over 1650m on a firm No 2 grass at Te Aroha in 1:52, the 600 in 38.9.

On a deep plough, Puni strolled 1200m in 1:24, the 600 in 42.2. Los Bravos and Bank On Her dashed 800 in 52.3, the 600 in 38.9.

Miss Puzzle and Just Aqua hit out attractively once round on a firm course proper at Te Awamutu and were timed to cover their final 1000m in 1:3.3, the 600 in 36.1.

Hero's Mountain and Dazzling Dancer had speed on early over 1000m in 1:6.4, the 600 in 38.6. Vera's Star was allowed an easy 1000 in 1:8.2, the 600 quicker in 37.9.

On a good sand, With Drawn ran 800m evenly in 51.4, the 600 in 38.5. Rip Rip Wood Chip covered 1000 in 1:7, the 600 in 40.6. Snippets Miss dashed 600 in 38.4.

At Avondale, Icey Red continued his Avondale Cup preparation in outstanding style, taking 2:6.4 for 1800m on a fast plough. He turned on power for the last 1000 in 1:5.8 and 600 in 37.3.

Planxty, a candidate for Ellerslie, was travelling a shade better than Madam Bettina at the end of 1200m in 1:19.3, the 600 in 36.5. Lady Tess and Avon Grosve sped over 1200 in 1:14.7, steadying from the 600 in 37.2.

War Paint shaded Folk Dance at the end of 800m in 49.6, the 600 in 35.9. Mangamingi went 800 in 47.8, the 600 in 35.6.
