Redangelo's immediate future will be decided when he faces a class drop to midweek grade at Sandown today.
The Testa Rossa colt is topweight with 59kg in the Schweppes Hcp (1200m) in which he will be ridden by Dwayne Dunn.
"He's running for staying in work running into the springor going to the paddock and being gelded," Mathew Ellerton, who co-trains Redangelo with Simon Zahra, said.
Redangelo has had two starts so far this preparation, running seventh to Sepoy in the listed Vain Stakes (1100m) and ninth to Golden Archer in the McNeil Stakes (1200m), both at Caulfield last month.
"We were prepared to forgive his run first-up, but he just followed them around last start and didn't do much," Ellerton said yesterday.
"The blinkers go on tomorrow and if he doesn't perform he goes out. He's obviously got the ability, but if he doesn't show it he'll be gelded."
Redangelo showed ability early in his career, running third to Holdontoyahorses over 1100m at Caulfield and then winning narrowly over Bladon and Chateauneuf Dupape over 1200m at Flemington, both in January.
