Racing: Overflo the one to watch

Jumping straight from R76 to R92 is extremely difficult, but Overflo should give it a good shake at Ellerslie tomorrow.

She looked to be hopelessly placed back on the rail for Noel Harris approaching the home straight and opened a few eyes wide when she swamped the leader in the final stride.

This is a much more competitive race, but Overflo stamped herself as one to watch at Avondale.

La Force did well to finish second to The Silence Sir at Ellerslie last start after being trapped wide.

Ellerslie is a difficult track to cover that much extra ground on and La Force rates a strong winning chance on that effort.

High Octane keeps measuring up as he rises in grades.

He did well to finish off as strongly as he did to win on this track last start after pulling hard for much of the way for Grant Cooksley.

Four wins and three placings from just 10 starts tells you something about the promise he's showing.

Tomorrow's Ellerslie raceday will be a lot more relaxed than the frenetic energy of the huge Boxing Day crowd.
