Mr Multiwin was in outstanding form at Cambridge yesterday.

The No 1 grass was easy and Mr Multiwin made light of his work, running 600m in a brilliant 34.4. He missed some work with a girth rash but looks to have bounced back well.

Dondinello, a form runner in the
Waikato Hurdles, looked in solid order covering the final 600m of 1200m in 38.7.

Pay The Believers impressed when running 1000m in 1.9, sprinting the final 600m in a fast 35.8. Grace left 1000m behind in 1.5.1, the 600 in 37.6.

Milan ran 600m in 37.2 and Penstar took 38.6. Holy Summer Storm was sent 1200m in 1.21, finishing off with 600 in 39.5.

Classy Affair and Reins and Pours were together throughout 1000m in 1.8, the 600 in 39.2. Flux Capacitor had Tattinger for a companion over 600m in 36.2. Malarky sprinted 600m evenly in 38.1.

Sunkai ran 1000m stylishly in 1.2, the 600 in 36. James Scott went nicely through 600m in 37.5 and Chief Ebony clocked 38.1.

Ultimate Conquest impressed in his final gallop for tomorrow's Waikato Hurdles when he worked at Matamata yesterday.

Galloping 30m out on a soft course proper, Ultimate Conquest and stablemate Volakin got through sound work over ground. They were timed over the last 1200m in 1:24.4 and went to the line strongly after a final 600m in 41.5.

Awapuni candidates Sabra and Annie Bee also did good work without running fast time. Sabra strode over her last 1200m in 1:32.3, the 600 in 43.4. Annie Bee, a 2-year-old first starter, had plenty in reserve after 800m in 58 and the last 600m in 42.2.

Missy Elliott continued her preparation for next week's Great Northern Foal Stakes when partnering Ratcatcha over a solid 1000m in 1:6.9, the 600 in 38.8. Dr Klaire showed improvement to lead Sing For Gold to the end of 1200m in 1:23.2, the 600 in 40.5.

Auckland Blues cut out 1200m in 1:26.2 and the final 600m in 40.7, Love Explodes took 1:25.4 and 42.8, and Daktari clocked 1:26 and quickened for a final 600m in 39.8.

On the sand, which was slushy, Cool Talk prepared for Te Rapa with 1200m in 1:24.2, the 600 in 38. Patrol got through his work in his normal style to record 1:21.6 for 1200m and 39 for the last 600.

Madamvizelle and Golden Syrup made good time over 1000m in 1:3.8, the last 600 in 37.2. Kainui Belle looked none the worse for her Rotorua outing when she was sent over 1000m in 1:6.8, the last 600 in 38.8. She will race next at Ellerslie.

Te Rapa form runner Pentane got through 1200m in 1:23.4, the 600 in 39.2. Artemesia worked in good style over 1200m in 1:20.7, the last 600 in 37.8. Opiki finished his work with 600m in 39.2.

Bellevue Lass looked ready for a bold effort at Te Rapa when working over 1200m in 1:19.6, the last 600 in 38.2. Express Train and Jet Home ran 1000m in 1:4.6, the 600 in 37.2.

Boulevardofdreams ran 1000m in 1:12.8, quickening over the final section in 40.8.

On the all-weather track, Anzi shaped up over 1000m in 1:10.5, with the last 600 taking 43.2.

Star Of Rio looked sharp in training at Takanini yesterday.

Working 3m out on a soft No 2 grass, Star Of Rio, one of two McKee-trained runners seeking a hat-trick of wins at Te Rapa, sprinted 600m in 36.8. He is at peak fitness.

The other, The Boom Town, ran her 600m in 37.5.

Vamperalla finished 1000m in 1:4, the last 600 boldly in 36.9. Sir Valiant ran 800m well within himself in 52, the closing 600 in 38.3. He and stablemate Marea have been doing grand service lately for trainer Jon Miller.

Millnorm sprinted 800m in 50.7, the last 600 in 37.1. He is nearly 10 years old but carries his age lightly. Sonatina looked good covering 600m in 37.7.

Desert Sheikh covered 1200m comfortably in 1:18.5, the last 600 in 39.2. None of the Clotworthy-trained runners could be timed because of poor light but Varuna, wearing blinkers, was given a sharp 800m.

Tofasttofurious stood out in training at Te Awamutu.

Working in the centre of the No 1 grass, Tofasttofurious ran an even 1000m in 59.1, the first 400m in 23.1 and final 600 in 35.7.

Kong Kuen and Lord Spectrum covered 1000m in 1.1.5, the 600 in 36.5. Short Cut Kennedy worked quietly over 1000m in 1.7.1.

On the sand, Badadinga and Florella ran 600m in 39.5.
