Racing: New Zealand's best hopes appear on support card

New Zealand's already skinny hope in Sunday's A$750,000 Inter Dominion Final has all but disappeared.

However, the chances of other Kiwi success in the seven group one races at Menangle's mega meeting were boosted by a huge night in the lead-up races on Saturday.

Terror To Love, the sole Kiwi in the Inter final, was again handed a terrible draw and will start from barrier nine in the 3009m mobile event.

As if that wasn't bad enough, his main rivals have all drawn to be handy on the marker legs, with Beautide into long odds-on favouritism after getting barrier five, from where he is expected to roll to the front.

That potentially sets up a scenario where he leads, second favourite Lennytheshark trails and For A Reason is three deep, meaning Terror To Love will be covering more ground than the other big names.

Hug The Wind sat parked to win his heat of the A$200,000 NSW Derby, while Kiwi fillies Fight For Glory and Delightful Lana were easy winners of the NSW Oaks preludes.

Champion mare Adore Me also sat parked and jogged a 1:51 mile to ensure she will be red hot in the A$200,000 Ladyship Mile, while Our Sky Major needed luck to secure a winning markers run but was sharp in the Paleface Adios, his build up to Sunday's Chariots of Fire.
