Irish import Mourayan has been scratched from this afternoon's running of the Melbourne Cup at Flemington.
Mourayan (number 10), who finished second in last weekend's Mackinnon Stakes, pulled up lame this morning due to a hoof injury.
Mourayan was a $AU15 chance in the Cup and was to have been
ridden by Hugh Bowman.
The withdrawal cuts the field down to 23.
Owner Lloyd Williams still has At First Sight in the Cup with Steven King to ride.
