Instigator (Wenn) ran 1200m in 1:22, the final 600 in 39.8. Twopaddocks (Bridgeman) wasn't after time while completing 1200m in 1:28, the 1000 in 1:12.2, the 600 in 43.
Penny Florence (Jones) had plenty in reserve as she covered her last 800m in 53, the 600 in 39. Cruise Control (Jones) was well held over 800m in 55.2, the 600 in 40.2.

* Black Tracker and Sircross returned a pleasing final trial for Ellerslie tomorrow when they galloped together at Pukekohe yesterday. Fog prevented some timing.

Shymaa (Hollis) finished 1000m in 1:5, the last 600 in 37.4. She should win or go close tomorrow.

Blue Ranger (Goodin) was given a quiet 800m, able to be timed only for the last 400 in 27.6.
