KEY POINTS:

Kristov was in dazzling form yesterday morning as he strode freely through his preparation for racing tomorrow, the weather being the decider where he races, at Awapuni or Ellerslie.

Working 16m out on a good course proper, Kristov (Johaansen) gathered speed going past the 1000m mark to record
1:2.2, the 800 in 48 and the closing 600 in a deceptive 36.2.

Pentane (Ormsby) strode to the finish of a comfortable 1200m run in good style to record 1:22.6, the 1000 taking 1:7.6 and the closing 600 in 38.2. He appears to be over the hiccup he suffered through his spring campaign and back on target to defend his title in the Auckland Cup in March.

Everswindell (Sliz) did her Marton prospects no harm as she covered an easy 800m in 53.5, the final 600 in an attractive 38.4. Dancing Forever (Rastrick) shaded Purinsesu (Ward) at the completion of a sound run 1200m in 1:15, the final 600 in 37.3.

Tinkerbeel (Gartner) left 1200m behind in 1:20.6, the 600 in 38.6. Stolen Symphony (Dowling) was well held over 1200m in 1:27, the 1000 in 1:12.8, the last 600 in 42.8.

Cosmo Love (Sliz) and Colombia Striker (Grayson) covered 1200m in 1:19.2, the 600 in 38. Mohican Brave (Johaanson) ran 1:9.2 from the 1000m mark the 600 40. Instigator (Wenn) ran 1200m in 1:22, the final 600 in 39.8. Twopaddocks (Bridgeman) wasn't after time while completing 1200m in 1:28, the 1000 in 1:12.2, the 600 in 43.

Penny Florence (Jones) had plenty in reserve as she covered her last 800m in 53, the 600 in 39. Cruise Control (Jones) was well held over 800m in 55.2, the 600 in 40.2.

Stolen Thunder (Turner) looked good while covering 1200m in 1:20.3, the 1000 in 1:5.3, the 600 in 37.4. Magical Mystery Tour (Coleman) ran 1:9.6 for 1000m, the 600 in 40.7.

Russian Jewel (Jones) ran 1:8.6 for 1000m, the 600 in 38.2. Shot Gun Start (Allen) hitout freely to record 1:20.4 for 1200m, the 1000 taking 1:5.6 and closing 600 38.5.

Work That Skirt (Andrew) ran 1:22.7 for 1200m, the 600 in 37.6. Della Lo Bra (Coleman) ran 1.23.5 for 1200m, the 600 39.6.

Strip Tease (Coleman) led We Want A Party (Andrew) after 1200m run in 1:21.2, the 600 in 38.4..

On the No2 sand, Shikoba (Upston) ran a quiet 1200m in 1:29, the 600 in 44.Wildgoosechase (Ormsby) ran 1000m in 1:5, the 600 in 37.5. Zergar (coleman) was timed over 1200m in 1:27.2, the 600 in 42.4. Jenebeel (Coleman) strode freely over 1200m to record 1:20, the 600 in 39. Lady Attire (Andrew) followed to record 1:20.7 for 1200m, the final 600 in 39.2.

* Black Tracker and Sircross returned a pleasing final trial for Ellerslie tomorrow when they galloped together at Pukekohe yesterday. Fog prevented some timing.

Working on the all-weather sand, Black Tracker (Yetton) and Sircross (Spratt) covered 1000m in 1:2.1, the final 600 in 36.8.

Shymaa (Hollis) finished 1000m in 1:5, the last 600 in 37.4. She should win or go close tomorrow.

Gallions Reach (Spratt) and Larrinka (Yetton) went 1600m, the last 1200 in 1:20.1 and 1000 in 1:6.

Blue Ranger (Goodin) was given a quiet 800m, able to be timed only for the last 400 in 27.6.

Kingsinga (Judy Collett), on the second round of pacework, quickened for the last 600 in 39. He looks a strong chance in the Marton Cup.

Prized Touch (N. Collett) and Chimalis (Singer) each paceworked twice round and unbeaten 2-year-old Crossyourheart (N. Collett), once.

On the outside of a firm No 1 grass, Vivaldi's Gone (Evans) covered the last 1200m of 1600 in 1:16.6 and 600 in 36.7.
