Kerry O'Reilly confirmed that he is a worthy favourite for Saturday's Eagle Technology Counties Cup when he worked in good style at Matamata yesterday morning.

With raceday jockey Cameron Lammas in the saddle, Kerry O'Reilly strode over two rounds of the all-weather track, quickening readily to run his last 1200m
in 1:22.3 and 1000m in 1:07.8.

Fog prevented any further sectional times, but the big gelding looked very comfortable as he hit the line.

Race rival Our Kitty was ridden by trainer Lance O'Sullivan in her work on the plough, which was on the dead side. She had speed on throughout 1200m in 1:16.8, the last 1000m in 1:03.2. The month she has had since her last race should pose no problem to Our Kitty, who will be ridden on Saturday by Noel Harris.

Stablemate Crepe De Chine (C. Ormsby) confirmed her fitness for Saturday's feature sprint when she led Taat Lass (Wells) to the finish of 1000m in 1:03.2.

Another for the race, Vinaka (C. Lammas), stretched out over the last 800m of his work in 56.2 and 600m in 40.4. He looks much fitter for a recent trial and exhibition gallop.

Squall (Walker) and Imananabaa (C. Lammas), rivals in the Counties two-year-old event, dashed over the final 600m of their work in 36.2.

Another last start winner, Ascot Isle (K. McQuade) looked ready for the Auckland Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes when she cut out a solid 1200m in 1:15.6, the final 600m in 37.5. Race rival Clean Sweep (Coleman) worked soundly over 1000m in 1:02, the last 600m in 36.5.

Sir Sintillate (Walker) rounded off his preparation for tomorrow's local meeting when he led Total Control (C. Lammas) to the end of a smart 1200m in 1:17.2, the last 600 in 36.4.

Lady Lip (Verry) did good work over 1200m in 1:22.2, the last 600 in 38.6, while Phone A Friend (Coleman) took 1:21.8 and 38.2, Pin Money (P. Ormsby) 1:25 and 39.2, and Better Boy (Coleman) 1:19.2 and 38.8.

Lovemedo (T. Thornton) took 1:26.8 for 1200m and 1:09.8 for the last 1000m. Delbury (Walker) and Olympic Light (T. Harris) ran their 1200m in 1:19.2, Genghis (Rastrick) took 1:24.6, and Aint She Neat (T. Thornton) 1:25.3.

William Tell (Tynan) did good work over 1200m in 1:22, the last 600m in 38.8. Stravigent (Coleman) got through 1000m in 1:04.6, the 600 in 37.2, while Fiorenza (Rastrick) and Katherina (Tynan) took 1:08.8 and 38.4.

On the all-weather track Stella Clark (Colgan) left 1200m behind in 1:16.5, the final 600m in 37. Right On Time (Teggert) and Order (Gorham) also had plenty of pace on when clocking 1:15.9 and 37.4.

Logarhythm (Gillies) got through the last 1200m of his work in 1:21.8 and 600 in 40.4. Lagasse (Sapsworth) and Lunaroso (Wratten) took 50.2 for 800m and 37.8 for their last 600.

* Maidens He's My Brother and Kingsinga were impressive on the all-weather sand at Pukekohe yesterday.

Fog prevented some timing.

He's My Brother was clear of Packsapunch in the finish of 1000m in 1:1.7, the last 600 in 36.9.

Kingsinga did well to keep with the in-form Tight Genes over 800m in 48.8, the last 600 in 35.8,

Mandana and Miss Ivy galloped 1200m in 1:17, the last 600 in 37.5.

Time Warp and Al Vialli completed 1000m in 1:3, the last 600 in 37.5.

Waltzmydear went 800m, timed for the last 600 in 36.3 and Ngahiiti, given the same assignment, recorded 37.3.

Vivaldi's Gone looked as well as ever when running the last 600m of 1000 in 38.

Tantalic was one of about 20 horses who used the course proper but because no markers were in place timing was not possible.

Riders, including Grant Cooksley, were happy with the condition of the track ahead of Saturday's Counties Cup meeting.

* Mistrale worked well alongside stablemate Grace and Favor at Cambridge yesterday morning.

Galloping on the outside of a good number 2 grass Mistrale (Robson) was slightly ahead of Grace and Favor (Satherly) after 1200m in 1.20.1, sprinting the final 600 in 39.0.

Chief Ebony (Teaz) and Quest for Cash (Foote) matched strides over 1200 in 1.22.4, coming home in 40.2.

Loland (Whitworth) and Bringbackthebiff (Calder) completed 1200 in 1.21.6, running the last 600 in 39.2.

Lollyscramble (Calder) looked in good order when covering 1200 in 1.23.0, the final section in 39.7.

Stellann (Holmes) left 1200 behind in 1.22.0, the last 600 in 39.7.

Clarrissa (Hills)worked over 1200 in 1.19.0, the last 600 in 38.3.

Kajema (Walsh) and Vision (Calder) finished 1200 m together in 1.21.1 running the final 600 in 39.8.

Spitn Polish (Laing) was timed from the 800m in 53.5.

Sir Edward (Gardner) sprinted 600 in 36.8.

Gristle (Treymaine) was comfortable throughout 1200 in 1.22.0, the last 600 in 40.4

Godzilla (Judd) had Wallandra Prince (Waters) for a companion over 1000m in 1.9.9, coming home in 39.6.

Gemset (Gerard) and the Silent Sir (Rambo) left 800 behind in 51.0.

Asmahan and America's Cup worked in from the 1200 in 1.21.6, the concluding 600 in 39.8.

Passadina Kid and This Time Rodney covered 800 in 53.0.

Passenetta and Willy Smith impressed over 1200 in 1.16.4 coming home in 38.0
