Racing: Hypnotiq strips fit for Ruakaka juvenile feature

Hpnotiq confirmed her fitness for the Northland Breeders Stakes when she worked impressively at Matamata yesterday.

On a good sand, Hpnotiq was untroubled to cover 1200m in 1:22.3, the last 1000m in 1:4.2 and 600 in 37.3. She looks all the better for a recent trial and will strip fit
for the Ruakaka 2-year-old feature.

Stik To The Basics shaped as a likely improver when he covered 1200m in 1:19.6, the last 600 in 37.4. Hi Yo Wassup caught the eye when sent over 1000m in 1:6.4, the last 600 in 37.2.

Opiki rounded off his work with a final 600m in 37.5.

Multi Tasker left 1200m behind in 1:19.8, the 600 in 37.6 and over the same ground Find An Oasis took 1:18.6 and 37.5, and Forceful clocked 1:20.6 and 38.8.

Takapuhi ran his 1200m in 1:25.6 and 39.2. Boulevardofdreams returned 1:19.8 and 37.7 and Prize Dream took 1:25.2 and 38.8. Mystic Jade covered 1000m in 1:9.4, the final 600 in 38.7.

Rely On Me worked over 1200m in 1:23.1, the 600 in 38.8. Brown Paper was restricted to 1:31.2 and 45.6 over 1200m. Shymaa and an O'Reilly filly took 1:12.8 for 1000m, the last 600 in 42.2.

Xcellent ran in from the 600m in 41.4, while in similar work Clean Sweep took 41.7.

On the all-weather track, Advanced completed his Ruakaka preparation with 1200m in 1:22, the 600 in 39.7. Gold Circle and Lesley Marie were kept to 1:26.4 and 43 for their workout over 1200m.

Bellevue Lass did similar work to return 1:27.6 and 41.2. She is likely to race next at Hawera on Saturday week. Sir Peter got through his work well over 1200m in 1:21.7, the 600 in 37.9.

Expectalite galloped impressively at Takanini, suggesting bright prospects at Ruakaka.

Working 12m out on a heavy No 1 grass, Expectalite covered 1200m in 1:24.4, the last 1000 in 1:7.3 and 600 strongly in 39.6.

Old Sox sprinted 1000m in 1:5.9, the last 600 in 39.8. Stablemate Waltmydear completed 600m in 39.6. She would not need to improve much on recent efforts to win.

Garnet, a runner-up at Ruakaka last time out, completed 1200m in 1:27, the last 600 in 42.9.

Desert Sheikh, who is thoroughly seasoned, was let off with 600m in 40.

Vamperalla was under a good hold through 600m in 40.5. Quartze looked fit and hard when running an easy 600m in 42.9.

Santa Margherita worked away from the 1600m and ran the last 1200 in 1:31.7 and 600 in 40.9. Tom O'Forbes paceworked twice round on the sand.

The consistent Flux Capacitor looked set to continue his fine record when working at Cambridge on the inside of a soft No.2 grass.

Flux Capacitor, a Ruakaka candidate, hit out stylishly over l000m in l:7, sprinting the final 600m in 36.l.

Tacit Approval looked fit for the Smokefree Steeplechase at Trentham when galloping the concluding l200m of work in l:2l, coming in from the 600m in 40.

Fin In Gold cut out 600m in 39.6. Van Dyk was timed from the l000m in l:9, finishing off in 39.6. Red Flash, a recent trials winner, worked nicely over l000m in l:8,6, completing the last 600m in 38.2. He is fit to make his race debut at Ruakaka this week-end. Race rival Surfer Girl followed in l:4.4, the final 600m in 38.8.

Allure and Syd Vicious came to the end of l000m abreast in l:3.9, the final section in a smart 36.2. Leningrad Cowboy left 600m behind in 39. Tuscaloosa covered l000m in l:8, coming home in 38.2.

Secret Season impressed over l200m in l:l6, with the final 600m run in 37. Iced Spirit was timed from the 800m in 55. Garden Party was not fully extended over l200m in l:25.3, the last 600m in 40.6

Spectrac was clocked from the l000m in l:8.5, the 600m in 38.l.

Mr Hefner showed his fitness with a good gallop at Te Awamutu.

Working on the inside of an easy No 1 grass, Mr Hefner and Local News started at the 2000m, running the last 1000 in 1.6.1 and 600 in 40.5. Mr Hefner was clear of his companion.

Bellaforte covered 1000m in 1.9.9 the 600 in 40.1.

On the sand, Saplaya and Irish Outlaw ran 1000m in 1.10.7, the 600 in 40.8.
