Cool Talk looked ready for a repeat of her last start win when she galloped stylishly at Matamata yesterday.

On a good plough Cool Talk (Rastrick) worked over ground, gradually gaining momentum to run the last 1200m in 1:19.8 and the 600m in an impressive 36.8. She has obviously trained
on well since winning fresh-up on her home track a fortnight ago and will start next at Avondale on the weekend.

Waitui Bay (Tynan) and Fiorenza (Rastrick) were paired in a smart workout over 1000m in 1:04.4, the last 600m in 36.8. Avondale maiden entry Bashful (M. Innes) caught they eye when cutting out 1000m in 1:02.6, the final 600m in 35.8.

Reely Smokin (P. Ormsby) shaped as a likely improver when running 1000m in 1:03.6, the final 600 in 37.4, while Time Spent (B. Lammas) clocked 1:02.6 and 37.4 over the same ground.

Its All About Her (Davidson) covered 1200m in 1:20.2, quickening for a final section in 36.8. Impressive last start winner Sir Sintillate (Hillis) wasn't hard pressed to run 1000m in 1:06.5, the last 600 in 39.4.

Allegory (Coleman) and Love Explodes (Collett) shaped up for tomorrow's local meeting with 1200m in 1:21.4 and 600 in 37.2. Over the same distance Warlord (Walsh) took 1:24.6 and 39.2, Lovemedo (T. Thornton) 1:23.2 and 38.2, Fred The Needle (Wells) 1:25.8 and 40.6, and Poynton (Ritchie) 1:21.2 and 38.5.

Charlie Horse (C. Ormsby) and Winsome Kash (Tynan) were travelling well at the end of 1200m in 1:22, the 600 in 39.2. Virginie (McFetridge) had pace on throughout her 1200m in 1:17.2 and 37.8, while Galaxy Invader (Coleman) took 1:25.8 and 39.8.

In her first run along since finishing second in the One Thousand Guineas, Everswindell (M. Carston) accompanied Sharvasti (Ritchie) over 800m in 53.8 and 600 in 37.8. Two Paddocks (Rastrick) covered 1000m in 1:07, the final 600 in 38.2, while Calm Bee (Sliz) and Dane Fantasy (Hercock) took 1:05.7 and 37.3.

Distinctly Secret (Tan), a runner in the main sprint tomorrow, finished his work with 600m in 36.2. Promising filly Volkrose (Coleman) recorded 1:23.7 for 1200m and 37.9 for her last 600.

On the all-weather track Stella Clark (Hercock) prepared for Avondale on Saturday with a smart 1000m in 1:03.6, the last 600 in 37.

Stark Breeze (Alexander) and Collection Girl (Dellow) wasted no time over 1000m in 1:03.2 and the final 600 in 35.8. Bedrock (Verry) completed her preparation for tomorrow with an easy 1000m in 1:11.8, the 600 in 41.

Mr Jinky worked nicely at Pukekohe yesterday ahead of Guineas day at Avondale. Using the sand, Mr Jinky covered 1200m with Picardo in 1:19.5, the last 600 in 36.7. Mr Jinky split Roman Chariot and Black Panther last time out.

Accardo, another from the Russell Cameron team, looked good running 1000m in 1:3.5, the last 600 in 36.3.

Leningrad Cowboy, who is an acceptor for Matamata tomorrow, dashed 600m in impressive style at Cambridge yesterday.

Working on the outside of a good No. 2 grass Leningrad Cowboy cut out 600m in 35.1. He raced at Te Aroha last weekend but lost all chance at the start.

Lowland (Whitworth) worked in from the 1200m in 1:23, the final 600m in 40. Volk Dancer (Hills) and Gaze (Hofmann) galloped nicely together over 1000m in 1:5.2, the last 600m in 37.
