In preparation for the Lion Red Stakes at Ellerslie, Hero galloped boldly with True Colours over 1200m on the outside of a firm No 1 grass at Cambridge. After a slow start, they quickened from the 1000m in 1:0, the 600 in 36.
On the No 2 grass, 30m out, Hello Dolly went 1200m strongly but could not be timed because of poor light. Fun Luv'n Criminal and Monterey Bay did well to run 1000 in 1:6, the 600 in 38.
Klusener went 1600m and was joined by Bay Myth for the last 1200 in 1:21, the 600 in 41. Jibella and Classic Suzy had speed on over 600m in 38.5. BritishVersion followed in 38.
Mac 'N' Fries and Elevenses worked attractively once round on a good plough at Te Awamutu, the last 1000m in 1:1.8 and 600 in 35.8.
Nostromo and Herbie ran an even 1000m in 1:1.9, the 600 in 35.9. Tsar Omar and Party Queen covered 1000 in 1:2.3, the 600 in 36.1.
Also over 1000m, The Immortal One took 1:3.2 (37); Governor George, 1:4.4 (37) and Electron and Pirate Pete, 1:4.5 (35.6).
At Te Rapa, Ismailia showed she was in first-class order for Ellerslie when running once round right handed on an easy plough in 1:46.9, the 600 full of running in 36.7.
The Pagan covered 1200m in 1:20.2, the 600 in 39.7. Von Nida sprinted 600 in 38.9.
She's A Meanie impressed at Avondale, cruising 1200m on a deep plough in 1:21.9, the last 600 more seriously in 36.9.
Two of her stablemates also worked smartly. Folk Dance went 1000m in 1:10.9, the 600 in 38.1. Ghostsong did 1000 under a hold in 1:8.7, the 600 in 37.6.
Straight Back went 1000m on a firm No 1 grass in 1:10, the 600 in 37.8. Lemon Eyes did 1000 keenly in 1:6.2 (38.4).
Diamond Runner took time honours at Te Aroha with 1000m on a good plough in 1:2.7, the 600 in 39.7.
Royal Orb went 1000m in 1:2.7, the 600 in 39.7. Holy Summer Storm strode once round in 2:5, 600 in 39.9.
