Premier League fans alarmed by false ballistic missile warning

Premier League fans were shocked by a ballistic missile warning which appeared on the screen.

Viewers of Saturday night's Premier League game between Tottenham and Everton were terrified by a message which appeared on their screens at half-time of the game.

A false emergency alarm alerted the people of Hawaii that a ballistic missile was bound for the islands.

So if you were watching Spurs v Everton in Hawaii....

Wouldn't sh** yourself much, would you? 👀👀👀👀

As players began to walk off the field, the screen faded blue under a piercing siren followed by an automated voice which directed people to take shelter.

"Ballistic missile threat inbound to Hawaii. Seek immediate shelter. This is not a drill," read the message, in all caps.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reassured that the alarm was false and that officials had accidentally sent the message out by text.

A text confirmed the error 38 minutes after the original one was sent.
