The only trouble with expectation is dealing with it. Some buckle under the pressure, and some swat it aside as Sarah Phillips did at the national school track and field championships at Papakura. "It does put a bit of pressure on me, but I just try to forget all that and concentrate," said Phillips, who nervelessly won the long jump with a 6m leap into the wind, just 4cm off the record, and crushed the 100m field. It took Olympian Chantal Brunner to head Phillips on the same track last month as Phillips shaded national 100m champion Jane Arnott.
