Paralympics: Treble bronze for NZ Cyclists

Paula Tesoriero and the tandem of Jayne Parsons and Annaliisa Farrell have won bronze medals at the women's road time trials at the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing.

Tesoriero came third in her category after a dramatic race in conditions which were exhausting for all riders, with many rider from all nations collapsing at the end of the race or before its completion.

Tesoriero, who had previous won a gold and a bronze on the track, completed the 24.8km race in a time of 45min 00.92sec on adjusted scores and then collapsed with exhaustion and has been taken to a medical centre for treatment.

The tandem of Parsons and Farrell were third in a time of 38:40.40, just over two minutes behind Belarus and winners the United States.
