Kiwi cyclist Kate Horan has been edged out of the medals at the Rio Paralympics after finishing second in the bronze medal ride in the 3km pursuit C4 event.
Horan led Megan Fisher at the 2km mark but the American fought back to finish in a time of 4:04.081. Horan
was less than a second back in 4:04.437.
New Zealand have three more chances to win a medal later today in the pool. Cameron Leslie will compete in the final of the Men's 200m Freestyle S5 while both Rebecca Dubber and Nikita Howarth will feature in the Women's 100m Backstroke S7 final.
Leslie was the first New Zealander in the pool, setting a new personal best time of 2:52.21 in qualifying. Leslie qualified fifth fastest for the final and will race against Brazil's darling Daniel Dias who has won a total of nine Paralympic medals.
Dubber and Howarth followed both swam strong heats finishing first and second with personal best times of 1:23.62 and 1:24.69 respectively. Dubber qualified second and Howarth third fastest for the final, with Liting Ke (China) qualifying fastest from heat two.
