The men's 49er pairing of Peter Burling and Blair Tuke have had a good day on the water amongst some less-inspiring results from the New Zealand sailing team.
A race win and a seventh placing has seen the pair move to second place in the event's overall standings.
The men's Star pair of Hamish Pepper and Jim Turner had a solid, but unspectacular day in finishing sixth then fifth in their two races - they now lie eighth overall in their standings after six races.
After a strong day on the water Monday, Dan Slater struggled in today's action in posting 17th and 11th placings - his win yesterday proving to be a major reason why he's still within the top 10 of the event with four races to go before a possible medal round.
JP Tobin's Olympic campaign got off to a rough start with a 15th placing in his opening race in the RS-X catagory. However, the man who was chosen to represent New Zealand ahead of Beijing gold medalist Tom Ashley bounced back in his second race of the day with a fourth placing.
In other results on the water Sara Winther in the Laser Radial sits in 17th spot overall after four races, the women's Elliott 6m team split their match races for the third straight day to now sit sixth equal overall while Andrew Murdoch in the men's Laser now sits in 13th place in his catagory after a rough day of racing.
