Save MILAN (AP) Italy is planning to focus on a single bid for the 2024 Olympics without having an internal competition between Rome and Milan.
Italian Olympic Committee president Giovanni Malago says "there will be a single bid."
Malago was in Milan on Thursday to discuss the bid with Rome
and Milan city officials. Both cities have expressed interest in bidding.
In 2010, Rome first had to defeat Venice in a vote to be selected by CONI as Italy's candidate for the 2020 Olympics.
Rome later pulled out when the government refused to provide financial backing.
