It hasn't been a good day for New Zealand at the Rio Olympics. In fact it's been a disaster.
First the good news. Four crews advanced to the finals in the rowing, however world champions Zoe Stevenson and Eve Macfarlane failing to make the final. Fellow double scullers Robbie Manson
and Chris Harris also didn't make it out of the semifinals.
And then the bad news. The equestrian team missed out on the medals after Mark Todd hit four rails in the showjumping. A clear run would have secured gold. Then 30 minutes later the New Zealand sevens team were shocked by Japan, yes Japan, in their opening pool game.
Sonny Bill Williams was injured and has been ruled out of the Olympics.
